Febergé did not follow the existing fashion trends, he created his own style. Looking at the numerous heritage of The House of Fabergé, we can easily identify a typical Fabergé design. Most of its tiaras consisted of flower garlands, bows, arrows, and, of course, large gems. Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna had "classic" Fabergé tiara of garland motif with five pear-shaped aquamarines. After the tragic death of Grand Duke Sergei Alexandrovich, when the jewelry collection of Elizabeth Feodorovna was sold and distributed to relatives, all her aquamarine jewelry, which was combined into a parure, went to her brother's family in Hesse-Darmstadt. In 1959, this Russian tiara, now known as 'Hesse aquamarine', was a wedding gift to Princess Dorothea, granddaughter of Princess Alice of Battenberg. In 1962, Dorothea notably wore a tiara to the wedding ball of the future king of Spain, Juan Carlos, so that we have the very first, but too fuzzy images of the tiara in use. Despite the fact that this piece was sold at 1996 Sotheby’s auction, it did not disappear from public view. A year later, Fabergé aquamarine tiara was seen again during the Paris Fashion Week — almost a hundred years after its creation, the tiara designed by Fabergé remained a symbol of "haute couture" luxury.
