    Description

    One of the earliest known YEI Yeibichai Lukachukai Native American Navajo Rugs made from 1915 to 1920's. Seven Yebichai Navajo Dancers Depicting Yei (Gods). These Yei Dancers prepare to dance in a healing ceremony. The dancers are male and female. The male dancers are calling Gods. This is a true collectors rug for a Native American art aficionado.
    The artist who brought this piece to life used hand-carded, hand-spun, and hand dyed native wool. It would have taken several months to prepare the wool for this piece before life ever touched it on the loom. Fit for a museum this 1915's Yei Yeibichai Lukachukai Navajo Rug Blanket was tucked away in a safe under Park Ave in NYC for 80 years with a Picasso Boy with Pipe Painting. You will be drawn in by the beauty of this rugs and a beautiful Navajo rug in your home is a great conversation piece as well as a functional piece of art. This Lukachukia area rug is from the west and south of the Lukachukia mountains from Shiprock, New Mexico. This Yei or Yebichai rug is a pictorial rug with six Yeti (God) figures. Expertly woven in the 1915 to 1920's by Navajo Native Americans. Handspun wool with aniline dyes. This Beautiful Navajo area rug blanket is well suited for use as a framed wall hanging, area rug, or a furniture covering/throw. Exact measurements are 3.5' X 5' or 65" X 42". Condition is excellent for its age with two small lumpy spot during weaving process. See photos.  Enjoy!
