    ’s Navajo bandolier bag made from harness leather and US Cavalry r
    emnants.
    Fabulous Example.
    48" long x 1" thick leather strap featuring thirty-five Coin Silver buttons.  The buttons are domed and stamped.  There are 28 ¼” (7mm) buttons along the border on the face of the bag.  The two center decorative stamped Silver buttons measure 1¼” (32mm) across and 1” (27mm) across.  The Silver buttons on the face of the bag are not centered perfectly.  The buttons along the border are not carefully measured.  That is part of its charm.  The smaller Silver button is set with a ¼” (6mm) green turquoise stone.   The face of the bag measures 6" x 4 3/4" at the widest point.   The small pouch behind the flap measures 5" x 6".  The leather is thick and the flap is not very flexible.  Under the flap are random holes from the re-purposed leather.   The leather thong keeping the buttons attached has a small silver button and a pump drilled turquoise stone that are tied and provide a decorative feature behind the flap.
    Several Native repairs to bag and strap over the years of use.
