Description

Refurbished American Water Heaters 6910605 Water Heater Control Board.
This board has had all four of its 240 volt relays replaced (they are what goes bad on the boards)
with new, exactly compatible, relays.  The board was fully tested on a water heater with the new relays and
functions 100% properly,
The plastic cover is shown for information and is **not** included.
If you are not skilled in installing high voltage control boards, DO NOT INSTALL THE BAORD YOURSELF -
have a qualified person install it.  I am not responsible for any damages or injuries by incorrect installation.
To install by qualified installer:
!!!! BE SURE THAT THE 240 VAC POWER IS REMOVED FROM THE WATER HEATER BEFORE INSTALLING !!!!
TRIPLE CHECK IT.
(NOTE: Take a few pictures of your existing, installed, bad, board so you will be able to look at them to determine
whether you have installed the refurbished board the same way or not.  Where the colored wires are installed must
be duplicated. The boards have the same layouts.)
Remove the three Philips screws holding the control board cover onto the base.
The board snaps out of the gray plastic case by using a flat blade screwdriver to push the tab at the back of the
board off of the board (look down at it from above to see where it holds the board) then lift the back of the board
out of the case.  The front of the board will come out of the two tabs securing it.
Remove the wire nuts on the red and black wires attached to the 240V supply voltage line of the bad control board.
After routing the new board's red and black wires to the proper location, connect them with the wire nuts to the 240V
supply wires that the previous red and black wires were connected to.
Using needle nose pliers, one at a time, pull the blue, orange, and yellow wires off of the bad board's relays, plugging
them onto the refurbished board's relays to the relay in the EXACT placement that they came off of.
ORDER IS CRITICAL.
Install any covers and shields before powering the water heater on.
