    Description

Southern Railway  - New Orleans and Northeastern Employee Timetable #3 June 1943
Submitted for your perusal, a Southern Railway - New Orleans and Northeastern Employee Timetable #3 June 1943. A duplicate from our collection. A piece of railroad history from back before "back in the day". During World War II, railroad operations must have been very interesting, as is this timetable. It has references to the First Class trains: The Pelican, Royal Palm, Southerner, and a passenger train from the Yazoo & Mississippi Valley Railroad. The listed station of Meridian, Mississippi was a "Union Station" where several railroads originated or terminated passenger trains.
OK, time to talk about it. As you can see, there is a big ugly rusty water stain that penetrates into page 4. Ugh. There are some black marks and general wear. Too bad the trend of "distressed" fashion wear doesn't translate to railroad ephemera. Dang it. Well anyway, you don't see too many employee timetables this old, and this cheap.
The sale of the book benefits the Covid clobbered Pacific Railroad Museum, operated by the Pacific Railroad Society; a 501(c)(3) non profit corporation.
After close of auction, this item will ship on the following Tuesday. Thanx for looking
