Description
I am auctioning off my 48-year-oldcollectible white porcelain coffee mug of the
Boy Scouts of America, marked in a colorful logo, "Pipe Creek Scoutacular Showman 1972." The mug has the classic gold ring around the top so popular with the Boy Scouts in the late 1960s and 1970s.
This mug has a weighted bottom, and measures 3.25 inches tall, 3.5 inches in diameter, and weighs 10 ounces. It has an easy-to-grasp handle, and holds about 10 ounces of coffee.
This mug is in great condition, with a fresh bright four-color logo, yellow, red, green, and black. The logo features a map of the world, the land in green and the ocean in blue, with an elongated Scout emblem in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. The map is round, surrounded by the words, with a yellow ring around it all. The mug is dated 1972, which is in itself unusual. Near Frankton, Indiana, the Boy Scouts today operate Camp Kikthawenund along Pipe Creek, which has been serving Scouts since 1926.
The mug is is in great shape, with no chips, cracks, or missing porcelain. Your best guide to condition is the set of large, high-resolution, pictures I've included with this listing. Most of my mug collection is up for auction along with this one, one of the most colorful.
If you decide to bid, good luck! If you win the auction, I'll pack your mug carefully and ship it to you via USPS the day after payment.
