Description
WWI GERMAN PRISM BINOCULARS C.P. GOERZ OF BERLIN "ARMEE TRIEDER" MODEL (6X24), PRIVATE PURCHASE BY NCO OR OFFICER MARK (A LETTER 'K' MARKED ON ALUMINUM FRAME). Used in GOOD condition commiserate with age and provenance.A great-looking pair of private purchase (a letter 'K' on the frame denotes this) Goerz binoculars used by an officer or NCO of the Imperial German Army in WW1. The serial number (403372) indicates that this particular exemplar was made in 1916. The overall condition is VERY GOOD, commiserate with being well-used with some rubbing and small scratches on the brass barrel coverings and milled (yes, milled) aluminum frame. It is missing the rear two rubber eye cups (not uncommon). The optics/objectives are EXCELLENT. Leather covering on the barrels is also SUPERB. Also marked "D.R.P." (Deutsches Reich Patent [German Empire Patent {starting in 1867}]). Overall, a great piece full of charm and character and doubtless could tell a story or two.
